A. Robert Bloom, CPA
Bob Bloom is an Assurance Director at BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation's leading accounting, tax, and advisory organizations. He is responsible for nonprofit and state and local government organizations. Previously, Mr. Bloom was a Senior Manager at Raffa, a regional accounting firm.
Earlier, Mr. Bloom was an interim CFO of a not-for-profit organization in 2003 and 2004, and from 1993 to 2002, he served as vice president of finance for technology companies, a venture capital fund, and pharmacy benefit manager. He worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was one of the industry leaders in the not-for-profit practice in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Bloom has more than 35 years of financial advisory experience. His clients have included community-based organizations; foundations; private schools; large trade associations; research and cultural organizations, including state and local government; and related retirement plan systems. He is a certified public accountant licensed in the District of Columbia and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves as the treasurer for Tzedek DC and formerly served on the board of directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. He earned a B.B.A. in accounting from George Washington University.
