National Industries for the Blind (NIB), in partnership with The Hadley School for the Blind, provides Business Basics, an innovative method to train people who are visually impaired or blind in business skills. Coupling Hadley’s proven excellence in distance learning with NIB’s mission, this program develops fundamental business skills to excel in the business world: business writing, general business concepts, spreadsheets, business communications, and Web-based research.
Business Basics is free and open to anyone who is visually impaired or blind. What does that mean for you, if you’re eligible?

Associated Agencies
Business Basics helps NIB associated agencies further support employees and clients in a targeted way. By providing people who are visually impaired or blind with jobs and rehabilitation services, the agencies play a vital role in ensuring the socioeconomic empowerment and advancement of people who are blind. And in return, through this program, agencies can:
- Further engage employees and clients
- Fulfill social responsibility initiatives
- Give back to employees
- Create a larger pool of internal candidates for open positions
- Save money by minimizing recruitment needs and reducing attrition
- Add an attractive addition to their benefits packages
