National Industries for the Blind Celebrates Milestone at New York City Event

June 28, 2013, NEW YORK, NY — National Industries for the Blind (NIB), the nation’s largest employment resource for people who are blind, marked the 75th anniversary of the formation of NIB and the passage of the Wagner-O’Day Act at an event in New York City. Representatives from its associated nonprofit agencies, corporate and government partners and elected officials joined NIB at Lighthouse International in Manhattan to honor the historic milestone.

National Industries for the Blind Announces Second Class of Advocates for Leadership and Employment

October 17, 2013, ALEXANDRIA, VA – National Industries for the Blind (NIB), the nation’s largest employment resource for people who are blind, announced its second class of Advocates for Leadership and Employment. Nine employees who are blind from NIB associated agencies were selected to help raise awareness among elected officials and educate employers about the capabilities of people who are blind.

NIB Calls for Senate Support of United Nations’ Treaty

December 3, 2012, Alexandria, VA – National Industries for the Blind (NIB), the nation’s leading employment resource for people who are blind, announced their support for the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities today. On the 20th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, NIB urges the Senate to ratify the treaty created by the United Nations that protects the rights of people living with disabilities, including equal treatment and non-discrimination in access to employment.
