John Mitchell has been Executive Director of the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired since 1996. Earlier, he was the organization’s Director of Operations. CABVI assists more than 4,000 persons who are blind each year by providing rehabilitation, counseling, employment and information services. Its Industrial Division generates $10 million in sales annually to provide employment to approximately 50 individuals who are blind. Prior to joining CABVI, Mitchell was Vice President of Industrial Operations at the Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Mitchell is President of the National Association for the Employment of People Who Are Blind. He is a participant in the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cincinnati Program. He is also Treasurer of the Ohio Radio Reading Services and a past President of the Ohio Alliance of Work Centers.
Mitchell holds Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Public Administration degrees from the University of Cincinnati.
